First performed in 2019, Flying Boar Productions are back withThe Proposal, a play by seminal Russian writer and dramatist Anton Chekhov. ‘You will remember that my Oxen Meadows touch your birchwoods.’ Best known for major plays like The Seagull and The Cherry Orchard, The Proposal is a one-act farce satirizing class life in Russia at the end of the 1800's. ‘Your father was a guzzling gambler!’ Fast-paced and anarchic, three characters petulantly bicker around and about each other whilst artfully sending up the age-old institutions of marriage and land ownership. ‘That turnip-ghost! First he takes our land and then he has the impudence to abuse us!’ Staged at a wonderful little venue in Wedding, with a fully stocked bar.
